The Willowemoc Wild Forest Yurt is just that, one yurt nestled privately at the doorstep of the Willowemoc Wild Forest , a section of unique forever wild forest in New York's Catskill Forest Preserve.
There is a short hike to our yurt from the parking area, an easy grade, and the setback offers the visitor a great level of privacy without isolation. You will be able to relax and enjoy the serenity of this beautiful part of the country, listen to the birds at the break of day, or possibly the distant howling of a coyote pack at night. And to hear an owl off in the forest, hooting for some attention from an interested counter part is one of our favorite night time experiences.
The yurt has solar lighting, a composting toilet, shower and outdoor cooking on a bbq grill. Bedding and linens are provided, but your personal items such as towels and wash cloths are your responsibility.

Handicapped or disabled folks will have vehicle access to the yurt if they wish. Please advise us if you require these special needs. Also some of our trails are accessible by power chairs, and we will have a couple of ground blinds available for those who wish to archery hunt from them. Other guests may use them for observation points to capture that nature photo.
Some of the other attractions our area offers are great museums, miles of state hiking, and snowmobile trails, nearby ski areas. Quaint and personal shopping experiences at one of our local towns like Livingston Manor, Roscoe (Trout Town), and Jeffersonville for those who want a break from those big box stores, is a most enjoyable day out. Not to mention some fine restaurants.
